Allison && Brian Get Hitched!

So this past weekend I was lucky enough to head off to Humboldt with my best friend, also known as my big brother, for his older sister's wedding. && let me tell you. It. Was. AMAZING

image.jpg

&& not just the wedding or the drop dead gorgeous bride. But being that it was my first time being that far up north. Oh me gee. It's stunning up there. The redwoods. The millions of trees. It was so nice to take it all in.

&& it was. So. Much. FUN. Seriously. It was so nice to see Russ' family- who were basically my second family in high school && college. && being that I am the oldest of 5 - yes 5 - dashing boys, Allison is the closest thing I have to an older sister.

So a huge congratulations to Allison && her loving hubby, Brian.  Wishing you both all the happiness in the world ♡

Wardrobe Update Lush List

Big news. I got a huge promotion at work && I couldn't be more estatic. Like seriously. Jumping up && down, stomach in knots, all I want to do is rock it out kind of estatic.

&& of course with a new job at a new location means one thing. It's seriously time to update my wardrobe.

Aka one more reason to shop. So here it is. My work wardrobe update lush list. Some of it's a total steal while other pieces are a splurge. I'm all about the mix && match && finding that perfect balance.

image.jpg

1. Forever 21 is seriously my go-to for jewelry. | 2. Miu Miu patent oxfords. I seriously die over these. The patent is soooo soft. They're ridiculously comfortable. && I the jeweled heel?! Ummm yes please. | 3. It's seriously a thousand times hotter in Walnut Creek. Dresses are a must have. | 4. Forever 21- I wasn't kidding | 5. Faux leather leggings. Perfect to pair with that white Helmut Lang I seriously need in my life ASAP | 6. Helmut Lang must have. Seriously. Go to your nearest Nordstrom && feel how cozy/comfortable/chic this is. Worth every penny. | 7. H&M is killin it with this dress right now. Total knock off of Helmut but I'm WAY into it. Like I said, find the balance of splurge && steal. | 8. What's mildly terrible is the fact that I bought these Christian Louboutin Allegra's a few days before the promotion. Oops. Whatevs. They're banging, comfy && I can work in them. Winning big time. | 9. This Givenchy is a serious necessity. Seriously. | 10 |

A-Trak at Fluxx

Where to begin? Maybe with RIP Fluxx because last Thursday night A-Trak straight killed the club.

&& let me tell you. It. Was. GLORIOUS

image.jpg

A-Trak has always been one of my favorite DJs- && not just because we are birthday buddies. This is probably my 6th or 7th time seeing him && he never disappoints. Ever. It's always a booty shakin-hands up-lose 20lbs by the end of the night kind of show. Throw in the fact that this time it was a $20 show at a smaller, more personal venue && how can you go wrong? Seriously.

image.jpg

So it was my first time being at Fluxx. Dope little venue in the heart of the gaslamp. The sound system was bangin'. The bar took all of 3 seconds to get a drink. && the bathroom line was minimal (which I'm sorry, is huge for us females). All in all, it was a great spot in the gaslamp.

Ahhhh the gaslamp. How I love thee. && ugh I miss it terribly.

image.jpg

Anyways. Back to A-Trak. If you haven't seen him, I highly recommend it. Scope him here. && follow him here for some serious laugh.

Reunited with this amazing person who I haven't seen in literally forever and a day. Never NOT a good time. Heart so full.

Fashiøn Fridaze

I've been counting down the days until my vacation home to San Diego. My yearly trip home to see family, friends && relax in the sunshine. Lemon ginger vodkas by the pool. Downtown San Diego romping. Del Mar beach. Play dates with my (almost) 2 year old heartbreaker of a brother. Real, delicious Mexican food. Family dinners.

To say I'm excited is the understatement of the year.

Anyways. I realized my wardrobe was too San Francisco for how warm - sorry hot - it's going to be. So a little SD inspired shopping was definitely in order.

image.jpg

1. Alice && Olivia Vandy dress. Hot or not, black is my go to color. I love the hi-low cut of this slip inspired dress. Espec love the racerback and sheer overlay.

2. Topshop Fedora hat. Because how else are you going to keep your face out of the sun?

3. Prada Sunnies. Some of my faves. Similar here

4. Alexander Wang Alla Peep Toe wedge. I'm short so it's rare to ever find me in flats, let alone flip flops. Give me some height! Plus they're on sale. && I obsess over the signature heel. Like seriously. iDie.

 Happy Friday loves

For those that know me, black is my absolute favorite color to wear. In fact, it's actually been on of my favorite colors since I was a kid. Black, red & certain shades of blue.

So it should come as no surprise that my current OOTD consists of all black everything. Seriously.

&& my favorite way to wear my makeup when I'm in all black? A gorgeous pop of color. Lately I'm obsessing over MAC Lady Danger. Seriously though. It's been in like 3 posts already so if you don't know now you know.

Anyways. I recently bought some epic staples to add to my majority black wardrobe.  && today I paired them with some of my already owned favorite staple items for an effortlessly chic look.

image.jpg

1. Helmut Lang 'Villious' Zip  Hoodie. The softest, coziest sweater I have ever owned. Worth every penny. && obsessing over the asymmetrical cut. To die for.

2. T by Alexander Wang black pocket tee. I just picked up this bad boy && I'm in love! Super lightweight, comfy && I die over the oversized fit.

3. Rag and Bone  black skinnies.

4. Rag and Bone Newbury  booties. They're my all-time faves && my total signature, go to shoe. Seriously. It's absurd how often I wear them but they're that amazing.

5. MAC Lady Danger. It's seriously the perfect color. Seriously.

Obsessing over everything.

Bloody, Bloody Sunday

Seriously. We (some of my favorite humans and myself) spent the day searching for the best Bloody Mary in San Francisco. And guess what?

We didn't find it.

But we had a ton of fun searching for it.

image.jpg

So based off of this and this, I constructed a fun map for the day to really see what was up with SF's bloodys. I rounded up the judgiest of people && we got down to it. We judged on everything from garnish to creativity to spiciness to how it would taste in comparison to my homemade ones (this is not me being an egotistical b!tch, this is having all the people I was with say mine are the best. Whatever. *secret dance*). Anyways. We also judged on the fact that if we had a friend visiting && wanted a Bloody Mary, would we take them here. That was important.

So here it goes.

1) Zuni Cafe

image.jpg

Zuni's def gets some creativity points for having a balsamic Bloody Mary. But after a few sips you get over it reaaaalll quick. && it was kind of hard to drink with shallots blocking the straw on the reg. 2 of us got the classic and it was. Whatevs. One major plus was the fact that the spicy factor was on point.

Overall rating: 5

2) Zeitgeist

image.jpg

Zeitgeist is one of my favorite places to go in SF. Like seriously love sitting outside in the sunshine, their extensive beer selection, the music they play && of course, their bloody Mary's. Besides the fact that I think they are the perfect ratio of spice and juice they are seriously strong AF. But I guess this is why I brought other people to help judge. Apparently they're just a little too basic and the beer selection is a little too good.

Overall 7.

3) Thieves tavern

image.jpg

Walking up to this place and seeing "Bacon Bloody" written on the door greeting us was SO promising. && then we ordered. && OMG was it awful. Like super sweet. Zero spice. Even the bacon was bad. How do you f up bacon? Seriously though. We had to order a round of beers && nobody could get past a third sip. The only redeeming quality was the fact that the garnish included cheddar cheese && salami. If you can call that redeeming. It was also dark AF. Like so dark it was hard to see but I still kind of dug it bc I'm a freak for dive bars. && it had a photo booth. I still don't know if I'd come back, even for a beer.

Overall 1.

4) West of Pecos

image.jpg

Idk about calling it a bloody. It looked like carrot juice && had that zing about it. In fact, it tasted like if you took TSC's Sexy Magic Elixir, substituted kale for carrots && added vodka BAM you would have this. Very different, not bad- I just don't know that I would come back for one. I'm just all confused.

Overall 6.5

5) Benders

image.jpg

Benders was not only our last stop but also the group's favorite. Not only were there Bender statues plus epic art work on the wall but the bloody was delish. && as gross as it sounds it was complete with a slim jim. I'm seriously in love with this place for more than the bloody, which was deemed the best of the day, but still not worthy of rating it a 10. I'd def come back to the bar, maybeeee have a bloody on a sunny day.

Overall 8

OOTD: black frill tank, high-waisted skinnies, signature black Rag && Bone booties, Lady Danger. Not shown Miu Miu sunglasses.

What's your favorite bloody spot?

RIP Maya Angelou

image.jpg

Today we lost an amazing woman. This is one of my all time favorite quotes. What are you doing each day to impact your life && the ones of those you love && encounter?

Life is so precious. I feel like we can forget that sometimes. So stop && spell the roses. Do something today that your future self will thank you for. Do something that scares you. You're meant for greatness. So go do it!
